1992

In 1992, Graeme Neville formed a partnership with David McCloskey to design the first geo-demographic segmentation system specifically for the Australian and New Zealand markets. In 1993 Geospend Pty Ltd, a 50/50 joint venture company with Australia Postal Corporation was formed to market the software and associated consulting services.

1994

In 1994, the business embarked on its expansion into Sydney market. Ngaire Burn was brought on to start the Sydney office.

1996

In 1996, Geospend acquired the market analysis business of APASCO (Australia). APASCO was a pioneer in the demographic analysis sector in Australia, with its origins going back to the early 1970’s. In the same year, the Family Lifestyle Survey was launched.

1997

In 1997 Australia Post purchased the remaining 50% Geospend shareholding. By this time, Geospend had become the pre-eminent supplier of analysis tools, services and data to Australian marketers. Graeme, David and Ngaire continued to manage this leading market and data analysis business until 1999. Soon after, they saw the opportunity to provide a marketing analytics company with a different approach and has never looked back.

2000

In 2000, Graeme, David and Ngaire established Pathfinder Solutions. The impetus for the creation of this company arose from the interest in the application of advanced modelling techniques to benchmark, understand and predict consumer behaviour; ensuring clients have access to insights to solve their business problems.

2001

Pathfinder Solutions acquired the former Geospend market analysis business from Australia Post, which now forms an integral part of Pathfinder Solutions' business.

2003

Pathfinder Solutions launched its 3rd generation geodemographic classification "Segments of Australia" and "Segments of New Zealand", an intelligent neighbourhood classification system designed for marketers.

SAS, Hopewiser, Acxiom and Nielsen Media chose Pathfinder Solutions as their insights partner.

John Kershaw appointed as the Director of Insights & Solutions, 3 years after emigrating from England to join the Pathfinder Solutions' team.
